What Does God Say About Money?
Do you think God knows how important money is to our daily lives? Lets see what his word says (Ecclesiates 10:19 "A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes life merry, but money is the answer for everything") I was surprised to discover this scripture. Having money does not make us bad people. However, it does give good people more options to be great givers.
I believe everyone young and old should be investing. "A good man (woman) leaves an inheritance for his (her) children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous." Proverbs 13:22
Did you know there is a difference between saving and investing? According to Webster’s:
Saving preserving, economizing or economical, making a reservation, any reduction in expense, time, labor, etc. NIV Proverbs 6:8 “…yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.” This is talking about the ants temporarily storing their food. Saving is only temporary.
Investing to furnish with power, privilege, or authority, to put (money) into business, real estate, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, to spend (time, effort, etc.) with expectation of some satisfaction. Ask yourselves did God save or invest with us when he created us? That’s right he INVESTED in us. How powerful is that to know we are saints? Eph. 1:18-22 & Eph. 6:10-11 emphasize how much God loves us.
